Globus Family Lighthouse Project and New Trees4Travel Partnership Branch
Littleton, Colorado – September 7, 2021 – In April, the Globus brand family was unveiled Lighthouse Project: An inspiring initiative created is to help travelers come together to reduce our footprint and to provide generously for the greater good of the world. The Lighthouse Project focuses on the mission of building a culture of care and sustainability, a branch of a new partnership with Trees4travel.
As part of this new Tree4Travel partnership, Avalon Waterways will offset the carbon footprint of tens of thousands of trees 4Travel by bringing the carbon footprint to each guest’s cruising experience in 2022. Through this initiative, the company will focus on “planet,” one of the three (3) important pillars representing the Lighthouse Project.
The Globus brand family lighthouse project focuses on three, and the backup category:
- planet: The Globus brand family goes to great lengths to protect and preserve in every destination visited. To protect waterways and wildlife and to illuminate the organization that does so.
- people: The Globus brand family is committed to protecting, respecting and supporting the extraordinary community of the world and improving the personal lives within it. A measure of success? – The MW smile we saw along the way.
- Place: The parks, palaces, museums and monuments we love today are the result of previous generations’ passionate commitment to conservation. Through the Lighthouse Project, the Globus brand family is designed to pay forward so that future generations can enjoy a glorious place to relax, renew and reflect.
“Our goal in the Lighthouse project is to shed light on a better path to tomorrow. Our new partnership with Trees4Travel will certainly do so,” said Scott Nisbet, president and CEO of the Globus brand family. “In the greater global interest, we are shedding on the needs and opportunities to offset the carbon emissions of travel, donating trees in 2022 by representing every tree donated on behalf of every Avalon Waterway. We also invite all travelers to participate.”
In addition to donating trees to automatically offset all Avalon Waterways cruises, those traveling with Globus, Cosmos or Monograms will have the opportunity to quickly, easily, and influentially replace their flights and holidays with Trees 4travel with URLs on each brand’s webpage. The Globus brand family also works with nonprofits to offset office emissions and employee travel.
According to Trees4Travel, the first 10 years of life of each tree will supplement travel, and the next 140 years of life of each tree will benefit the planet.
“It’s important for us to explore and experience our amazing world through travel,” said Nico Nicholas, founder of Trees4travel. “Planting trees with the Globus brand family and its guests for travel, we help travelers do their best to create and maintain forests to remove carbon dioxide from the air while restoring the ecosystem. It’s a simple and powerful behavior that helps reverse climate change and create a safe, sustainable planet that provides a safe, sustainable planet for future generations.”
And, while the Globus brand family is working with Trees4Travel, the company is also committed to creating an environmentally friendly culture around the world.
“Through our lighthouse project, Avalon is developing an ambitious course for zero emissions and sustainability in all aspects of cruising,” Nisbet said. “Our state-of-the-art suite fleet and top-tier technologies limit energy, consumption and emissions. In addition, Avalon’s waste waste and recycling program reduces our environmental footprint. This is just the beginning. Our goal is to have the first fully electric river cruise container by 2027.”
