Recently, we’ve returned from the celebration of the Carnival Cruise Line, at the $600 million resort on Grand Bahamas.
The private destination relaxes with Halfa Moon Cay and Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay), as part of the ever-evolving paradise collection of Carnival.

For reference, Celebration key Located in the south of Grand Bahamas, about 22 miles east of Freeport.
Starting at 5 a.m.

Our day started (very early) when we flew out of Miami Airport to Grand Bahamas 23 minutes.
Most guests will arrive by boat and dock directly on the brand new dock at Celebration Key, but since I can’t attend Carnival visionCarnival provides me with the opportunity to fly over and experience it Grand opening First-hand.

Once we landed, that was the core of the action – after years of watching the project form, I finally stood on the celebratory key.
Grand opening ceremony

I’ve covered all the updates since the Carnival broke five years ago. From drone shots to renderings to the first concrete poured out, I kept following.

So, on the opening day, watching the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Carnival President Christine Duffy, Shaq and Carnival Corporation CEO Josh Weinstein was a special event.

Then the spectacular fireworks were displayed on the heart of the celebration key.
First impression

Walk in and you are immediately towering above everything by bright colors, optimistic music and a large 10-storey Sun City. Celebration Keys feel like a cruise playground comes to life.
This is my first time attending a grand opening and while I have seen a lot of artists renderings before, once you are actually there, they won’t be any justice to the atmosphere.

The property is very large and very walking, but you can use the tram to avoid overuse of it. I found something to explore in directions.
A cold adult retreat

One of my favorite attractions? Pearl Bay Beach Club. Only the hiding path of adults is hidden on the side, which is pure tranquility. If I didn’t run around like a madman, then I would jump into that infinity pool to calm down!
This is a premium area for $99. However, you can access a huge infinity pool, poolside service, upgraded food and cocktails and some of the best views of the resort.
Bad food

Let’s talk about food. There are many, if you Like to try different bitesthe food truck area is where you want it.
Think of that bastard chicken sandwich, conch fritters, wings, tacos, burgers, you said. This setting is more of a casual beachfront food festival than a typical cruise ship fare.

Digital information kiosks help speed up ordering, which is great because it is not your diet. Each guest can provide a free meal for free, while everything else is ordered.
Some of the guests we spoke with discovered this limitation, and Cheers! Beverage packaging Not working here surprised some people.

That said, the cocktails are solid and the swimming bar buzzes. You can also use a credit card in a drink booth, so it might be wise to carry it around.
The guest has to say

All day, I chatted with dozens of guests, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Family loves the kid-friendly splash area and shadow seating area. Couples revel in the lagoon, and even thousands of people are there, they won’t feel crowded.

One guest told me it reminded them of high-end resorts in Mexico. Another said that a wide variety of seats, shadows and spaces can be dispersed, making it a favorite stop on the cruise.
Even those who don’t plan to get off the boat said they were glad they did. At some point during the day, only 168 guests stayed at the Carnival. That’s a lot to say at the cruise port.
The final thought

After a day of exploration, it’s time to go back to the airport and fly back to Miami. Celebration Key fulfills its promise Next level private destination.
If the goal is to make money in Cococay, to make money, carnival very good. With more and more ships and second phase construction, I can only imagine this place getting better.
