Cape Town It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It’s no surprise that it is a popular hub with its amazing beaches, towering mountains and vibrant culture. This is a place to attract tourists. I have a lot of friends who went there and ended up staying for a few months.
And, while this is a pretty cheap destination (I’m talking about a $2 cocktail), I’ve always like to offer people tips and tips on how to save money to save that extra savings.
To help you save money on your visit, here are some ways to visit Cape Town on a budget (there are only a few things to know, as the city is already very affordable for visitors):
1. Visit during off-season
The peak tourist season in Cape Town is from December to February, when the city is filled with tourists watching the cold winter in the northern hemisphere. During these months, everything from activities to accommodation is known to be expensive. If you can, plan your shoulder season (March to May or September to November) at a more reasonable price. This alone can save your wealth!
2. Consider staying in the hotel
Accommodation is one of the biggest expenses when traveling, and Cape Town is no exception. Thankfully, there are a wide variety of accommodation styles to choose from from hotels to hotels to short-term rentals. If your budget is tight, Hotels are the cheapest choice. But if you’re looking for something better, you can still do it at Airbnb or booking.com If you book at least three months in advance.
Once sold out, there are fewer options to choose and hotel prices soar, so make sure not to leave until the last minute.
3. Take advantage of ride app
The Myciti Bus system is a popular and cheap way to stroll, but it is not always the safest, especially at night. Instead, use ride classification applications like Uber or Bolt. By Western standards, it is safer, faster and still very cheap.
The average cost of excursions is 30-50 ZAR ($1.65–2.75 USD), and if you plan to use ride equipment frequently, you’re worth the Uber pass of 100 ZAR ($5 USD), which gives you a 10% discount on each ride.
If you stay for a month or more Car Rental A price of around $300-500 per month may be a good choice – but be aware that the sum of gas and parking fees may be more expensive than using a ride app. For the best car rental, please use Discover the car.
4. Choose to DIY tour
If you want to save some cash, rent a car and allocate the cost of visiting the venue with friends or other travelers. One of the most popular tours is a Cape Town tour that begins in Cape Town and stops at various tourist destinations, such as the famous Penguin Colony in Boulders Beach before completing it in Cape Town. These tours cost between 545 and 860 ZAR per person and do not include the park entrance.
Plus, you can get cheap car rentals for 450 ZAR per day and cut costs significantly by allocating it between people. Not only can you plan your own excursions, but you can also give you the flexibility to travel in your leisure time and stop wherever you want without feeling rushed.
Other popular trips, such as visiting the wine country and watching whales in Hermanus, are also easy to enter alone.

5. Free hiking
The first thing I have to do when I arrive at my new destination is a free hike. This is the best way to get a land situation, view the main highlights and connect with local guides that can share insider tips and suggestions.

Near Cape Town, dining out can be affordable. Most restaurants, even in areas centered around tourist centers, have food for $5 to $10 per meal (even cheaper in some places).

Additionally, food delivery applications often have cheaper deals than in person. If you get an Uber pass, you can also get discounts on Uber Eats and pair with one-to-one promotions and other dining deals that are always advertised at various restaurants, which is even cheaper than cooking for yourself.
