Experience the Panama Canal

The Panama Canal has been a long cruise in history on other cruise lines, usually fourteen nights or more. And they are often used to reposition cruising (e.g., moving vessels in Alaska and the Caribbean). The absolute best itinerary to see the canal on a short cruise was 7 nights. This is a comprehensive tour. Depending on the date, you either start on the Atlantic side of Cologne or on the Pacific side of Puerto Rico crater.
Entering these cruises involves an easy flight from Miami (three hours) or Houston (four hours). The flight from Cologne is through Panama City (PTY). Transportation between the cruise terminals between Cologne and Panama City Airport can be arranged by bus, shuttle or private car. The closest airport to the Puerto Rico crater is Santa Maria International (SJO), about forty minutes from the airport.
Whether you have experienced the canal or not, seeing it from the boat is fascinating and relaxing. Since there are no crowds, you don’t have to fight the crowd when the ship passes through the lock. The local guide on the ship tells the transit throughout the day.
Your Wind Starship is essentially a river cruise of the day. You can kick back all day and enjoy engineering feats and lush Panama scenery. Boat options on the seven-night itinerary include sailing boats and Windstar motor yachts.
It’s not that I personally strongly tend to both (I love them equally), but imagine the sheer romance that goes through the canal Feng Ling or Wind Star. Both will be attracted to most other ships, but their main tailmasts will hardly clear the bridges you pass at either end. Passengers and crew refueled again in the darkness of the morning and at the other end of the night. Talk about photo action!

Entertainment time in the Pacific

If the Panama Canal itself is not as important to you as exploring call ports in Central America, especially on the Pacific Coast, you might consider Natural Costa Rica: Puerto Rico Crater to Panama City. It was an eight-night trip between the craters of Balboa, Panama and Puerto Rico in Costa Rica, and both countries stopped. The first thing to know is that there will be a beach. And if your beach isn’t your business, there’s plenty of time to explore the rainforest you’re visiting.
Call ports include exotic places like Isla Parida, where the tour options are somewhat adventures, ranging from snorkeling, fishing and hiking to wildlife viewing (yes, there will be monkeys). Next is Golfo Dulce, where you can do a lazy walking tour or try kayaking. Quepos offers a lot of options, more for hiking and wildlife viewing, and a large selection of cooking snacks.

For water lovers, the cruise offers six potential water sports piers. For those like me who have been looking for scuba diving locations, this cruise offers the opportunity to book dives independently at most call ports. I easily found a dive operator along the way. The days at the port were long enough to go out alone for a few boat dives and then return to the boat for a leisurely afternoon.
