I stayed on the boat and enjoyed the scenic cruise from tour to Macon – The Sion River was very beautiful in this part and now there are only a few cruises as most people are too big! Amacello is perfect for this river and we only saw 3 other boats until we arrived at Rhone. It felt like my own private boat, with only 3 other passengers staying on board!

The food capital of France, so we decided to spend the day! We had a train from Macôn to Lyon and then went to the art gallery in the afternoon and had supper in Bouchon. Great local and traditional dishes and a good bottle of wine
Vienna
Take a separate bike and try to find some vineyards on the famous Viarhôna wine route. By dinner, I hadn’t walked too far, so I returned to the boat.
Viviers
It’s a sleepy place, very hot. Walking around the ruins, then finding the local wine bar! Chat with locals and have a very good, rich chocolate ice cream.
